Project Planner Automated Warehouse
Location: Utrecht, Utrecht, Netherlands

Picnic has revolutionized grocery shopping in Europe and is expanding quickly. Automation of our supply chain processes is one of the foundations to facilitate this growth. We are currently developing multiple highly automated warehouses, sizing over 40,000 square meters with the capacity to deliver groceries to over 150,000 families per week!

We are looking for someone to take a leading role in this project and start as our Project Planner. Are you ready to take this challenge?

What’s your role about?

The Project Planner will work together with the project team to ensure the delivery of complex and automated warehouse systems for Picnic. You will play a central role in the development of our plans for our construction projects to ensure that the project is completed safely, on time and within budget. You are the focal point for this project, fully understanding the dependencies of the project (the necessity for every small piece of our construction to be in the right spot at the right time), in touch with our many external and internal stakeholders and capable of explaining the complexity of the project to others.

You will be working on and off site at different automated warehouse sites in the Netherlands (Utrecht, Ridderkerk, Zwolle) and Germany and from time to time you can work from home. You can make a real impact and ensure Picnic will meet the project planning and that all of our customers continuously experience our top of the bill Picnic service. 

What you do 

  • You determine the project scope
  • You keep track of the schedules, costs, and resources to make sure the project remains on track and under budget
  • You determine the project risks to help mitigate potential problems
  • Contact and communicate with all partners (real estate managers, mechanization & building contractors, etc.) concerned with the maintenance and construction of the automated FCs
  • You will be a valued member of the project team and will join weekly team meetings to discuss the progress
  • Your activities could include: planning, procurement, commercial, contractual, financial, documentation, stakeholder management and risk & issue management

What you need 

  • Bachelor degree in engineering with a few years of relevant experience, or a Master degree in engineering
  • Fluency in Dutch and English, bonus points for German and French
  • A passion for planning, engineering and automation
  • You are flexible and can deal with changing circumstances
  • You can work independently, but also work closely together with the project team
  • You are detail focused and very precise
  • You are mature and you take responsibility and ownership
  • Drive to innovate the world of grocery shopping and the perseverance to go the extra mile
