Senior Payroll & Benefits Specialist
Location: Amsterdam, North Holland, Netherlands

At Picnic, we’re revolutionizing the way people buy groceries with our innovative and sustainable app-only service. We do almost everything in-house, developing cutting-edge technologies and processes to ensure we continue to grow rapidly without missing a beat. If you’re a passionate Senior Payroll & Benefits Specialist, we’re offering you the opportunity to join the diverse team at our Amsterdam HQ and make a real difference in our scaleup environment.

🥜 In a nutshell

Thanks to our Shoppers and Runners, all picnic customers can have their food delivered on time. They are extremely valuable to the entire Picnic supply chain, without them our business couldn't continue to run smoothly.

Our current team of two Payroll & Benefits Specialists is seeking for another star to join the team due to our continuous growth. As our Senior Payroll & Benefits Specialist you'll be co-responsible for the four-weekly hourly billing of our Shoppers, Runners & Central teams and be responsible for managing all aspects of administering employee benefits, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.

In addition, you'll be co-responsible with the People team for the coordination & execution of our benefits (lease bikes & lease cars, topics involving international mobility, advising on our travel & expense policies), and take over the communication with our payroll provider. You will work with various internal and external stakeholders and be part of the finance team.

🎯 What you’ll do

  • Review, approval and control of four-weekly salary payments
  • Continuous further development of our payment process including participation in tech initiatives to develop a (home grown) system solution which scales just like Picnic does
  • Administer employee benefits, including health & employee insurance, pension plans, and other voluntary benefits
  • Assist employees with questions about their payroll and benefits, and ensure all inquiries are resolved in a timely and professional manner
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant governmental regulations, including but not limited to tax laws, labor laws, and benefits regulations
  • Keep accurate and up-to-date records of all payroll and benefits-related transactions
  • Prepare reports and analysis as needed, including monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports
  • Management of numerous stakeholders both inside and outside Picnic in the payment process
  • Take the lead on formalizing our policies & benefits
